On Thursday afternoon, Democratic New York Governor Kathy Hochul held a presser to announce whether she would remove NYC Mayor Eric Adams and fellow Democrat from office.

The decision comes a day following a 90-minute meeting between the U.S. Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, and Alex Spiro the Mayor’s Attorney.

The meeting between Judge Dale E. Ho, and the attorneys took place after seven attorneys from the U.S. attorney’s office in the Southern District of New York had resigned. Emil Bove, acting U.S. deputy Attorney General Emil Bove also filed a motion with the court asking for the case to be dismissed against Mayor Adams.

On Wednesday, Donald Trump also ordered an end to congestion pricing in New York, which caused liberals, including Gov. Hochul.

Hochul now admits partial defeat in the face of Mayor Adams’ decision. She will still not remove Adams from his position as duly elected mayor of New York City, but she won’t stop the conversation. This includes assisting the new administration to implement its immigration policy, including repatriating illegal criminal aliens.

What happened at the press conference on Thursday?

Hochul, who said that she was “deeply disturbed” by Adams’ accusations, said Thursday that she will not initiate removal proceedings at this time.

She continued

“I am adamant that I cannot take any action because of my strong belief in the power of the people and the supremacy of democratic elections. I cannot deny this great city’s people the right to decide for themselves.”

What’s her next step? Hochul will propose to the state legislature and the city council that they “create a state inspector general who oversees New York City, and empower other city elected officials so that they can sue the Federal Government if the Mayor declines to do this.”

Other Democrats, who reject the American voters’ choice of Mayor Adams in the November election, may try to place him on a tightrope, possibly to force him to resign.

Adams doesn’t sound like someone willing to cower. On Wednesday, after the hearing in court, he said that this was not going to happen. “I will never give up, I will never resign, I will fight.”
