According to The New York Post, the Department of Transportation has announced that it has replaced the U.S. Attorney’s Office lawyers in Manhattan after they accidentally submitted a report outlining the legal issues surrounding the Trump Administration’s plans to replace New York City’s tolls for congestion pricing.
In a letter dated Wednesday evening, April 11, it was stated that it would be unlikely for Judge Lewis Liman or any other court to uphold Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s decision.
Halee Dobbins, a spokesperson for Duffy, asked: “Are SDNY lawyers on this case incompetent or was it an attempt to resist?” She stated, “At a minimum, this is malpractice. It’s sad to see a premier firm of lawyers continue to be tarnished.”

SDNY’s Memo doesn’t reflect reality. New York Governor. After Donald Trump’s victory, the Biden Administration approved Kathy Hochul’s war against working-class people on congestion pricing.
Taxpayers already paid for highways Hochul is now closing them to motorists. There is no other option. This is an illegal and unprecedented situation. If the Department of Transportation does not shut down this site, it will stop funding and projects in New York.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesperson said the filing was “an honest error and in no way deliberate.” After realizing the error, we immediately removed the document.
New York City launched the first program of its kind across the country in January. It charges $9 to most vehicles during rush hour for entry into Manhattan south of 60th Street. The aim is to reduce traffic while raising funds to improve mass transit.
