The United States Postal Service announced on Tuesday evening that it will temporarily suspend accepting packages from China and Hong Kong.
USPS announced that the suspension is effective immediately. The suspension does not include letters and flats, the USPS said.
The suspension was not explained by the postal service, nor did it specify how long the suspension would last.

Beijing announced earlier Tuesday that it would retaliate against President Trump’s 10% tariff on Chinese products with its tariffs. China announced that it would begin implementing a 15% tariff for coal and liquefied gas products, along with a tariff of 10% on crude oil and agricultural machinery imported from the U.S.
Trump has said he will speak to Chinese President Xi Jinping within the next few days.
