The video showing United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, shot dead in cold blood on December 4, 2024, in the early hours of the morning in Manhattan was shocking and horrifying to Americans. No matter what your opinion of health insurance companies is, this was a father and husband, going about his business to an important meeting, In a matter of days, the alleged killer had been caught. This might bring some comfort to the family and friends of his victim, but what has followed is horrific and shows the dark side of the left.
Luigi Mangione is suspected of killing Thompson and has received donations totaling about $300,000. Mangione faces several federal and state charges, including murder in the first degree in support of an act of terrorism and stalking. The December 4 Legal Committee created the legal defense fund. In a press release, the group stated that $290,000.00 had been raised by 10,000 individuals. Karen Friedman Agnifilo was Mangione’s lead defense lawyer. She released a statement on Monday.
“Luigi knows about the fund and appreciates it very much. My client intends to use it to fight the three unprecedented cases brought against him.”
Since his arrest, Mangione has become a cult hero for the left. His good looks surely helped, along with subsequent photos of him released, shirtless with six-pack abs, which had leftist women swooning in their tofu lattes. It was all that was needed to cement Mangione’s social justice warrior status as an avenger against evil health insurance companies. Luigi Mangione now had the left openly cheering for murder.
Who is the legal committee of December 4? Sam Beard, Jaime Peck, and other members of the group are its spokespersons. They call themselves “a group of 15 volunteers from around the United States,” and say they “were created independently by Mangione supporters on his behalf.” You can find out more about Mangione supporters by listening to the podcast “Party Girls” which is a podcast that talks about communism, gossip, and other topics. The episode for December 21 was entitled “We raised $175,000 in support of Luigi Mangione.” This is sick. Sam Beard released a statement about the fundraising efforts. The scene was ghoulish.
“We are thrilled that Luigi has accepted these funds to mount the best defense possible. The American private insurance industry has destroyed countless lives, denying people basic care and burdening families with medical debt. It’s not surprising that tens and millions of hardworking Americans understand Luigi’s actions.”
These leftist sickos don’t seem to care that Mangione is from a wealthy background and shouldn’t need a “defense” fund. The sheer number of people donating is alarming, especially since many of them may be from Mangione’s age group. According to a December 2024 Emerson College survey, 41 percent of voters between 18 and 29 years old thought Mangione’s actions were either “completely acceptable” or “somewhat unacceptable.”

If Luigi Mangione was not attractive, would he get the attention and donations that he does? The answer is obvious, making it all the more disgusting. Ted Williams, a Fox News commentator and former homicide investigator, said what many people were thinking.
“I find it sad in America where we can witness one man murdering another man and amplify the murderer. It is appalling to me that anybody would raise even a dollar for a person who killed another person in cold blood. Yes, a person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. However, given everything we know about Luigi…all the evidence points directly to him. I am just shocked that because of a person’s status, i.e. being a health care executive, that anybody in America could be cheering the death of a human being.”
But for the left, cheering murderers is just part of their daily routine.
