After showing up at a residence and trying to enter, a Temple University student was arrested and charged with impersonating an ICE agent.

Philadelphia police reported that two “suspicious males” identified themselves to the dorm security as police and ICE agents on Saturday. Temple University reports that the individuals were denied entry to the residence hall.

Police identified a third suspect as Aidan Steigelmann (22), who arrived at the building to speak with the other two suspects. The three then left in a Jaguar SUV.

Temple University reports that two of the three impersonated ICE agents while the third recorded the interactions.

According to police, minutes later, the university police responded to a call about three males who claimed to be police officers or ICE agents at Insomnia Cookies.

Police said that while two suspects fled the area in an SUV of a lighter color, Steigelmann’s vehicle was towed and he was arrested.

“The involved student is on interim suspension. Any student found responsible for this conduct will be subject to disciplinary action under the Student Conduct Code, up to and including expulsion,” Temple University said in a statement.

The investigation continues, and two suspects are still at large. Police said the suspects wore shirts that read “Police” on the front and “ICE” on the back.
