Police said that a Georgia healthcare worker was arrested Tuesday on a felony count after she posted an online video of her dancing over a disabled person at the patient’s home.
According to online records and the Loganville Police Department, Lucrecia Koiyan (19) is charged with the exploitation of disabled persons concerning an incident reported in Loganville. The incident was recorded and shared on social media.
The city is located about 35 miles north of Atlanta
Loganville Police Chief M.D. Lowry stated that his agency had been notified about the disturbing video on Jan. 23.
The video shows a woman sitting in a chair with the woman, wearing navy scrubs and a stethoscope, standing above her on the chair, filming the dance on her phone through a mirror.
Lowry stated that Koiyan worked as an adult daycare worker in the home during the alleged crimes.
The Chief said that the investigation is still ongoing and will include the circumstances of her employment, as well as the license of the company she works for.
Lowry stated on Wednesday that she was “appalled and disgusted” by the video. As police officers, we must protect those who cannot protect themselves. My detectives worked quickly to bring charges against this individual.
According to the statement of the chief, detectives began an investigation, and on Tuesday morning executed a warrant, and arrested Koiyan from Loganville.
Koiyan has been booked in the Walton County Jail.
Koiyan, according to a Walton County Sheriff’s Office Deputy, was on the verge of being released Wednesday morning after posting a bond of $7500.
Police reviewed the second video showing a healthcare worker dancing on another person.
The chief said that investigators were also reviewing a second video of dancing provocatively over another person who appears to be disabled.
This video shows a woman dancing on top of a bathtub, directly over another person who is sitting in it.
Lowry stated, “Our detectives are working in conjunction with other jurisdictions to identify the location where the second video was shot. At this time, it is not possible to say for certain that the second video was shot in our jurisdiction. However, the investigation continues.”
The chief stated that additional charges “are certainly possible” after the location is determined.
First court appearance for twerking Nurse pending
A Logan County Magistrate Clerk said that as of Wednesday, Koiyan hadn’t yet made her first court appearance.
An attorney of records was also not listed on file at the clerk’s office, the employee said.
