Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is calling on President Donald Trump to appoint Sunshine State Surgeon-General Dr. Joseph Ladapo, as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

DeSantis believes that the public health official at the CDC could do much more than he can now.

“Overhauling the CDC would be beneficial to FL. Joe could do more for FL as CDC Director than as FL Surgeon General,” the governor said in a post on X.

DeSantis agreed that Ladapo, as CDC Director, “is the right choice, transformative, history-making, and the pick that will save the Republic”.

In a Twitter post, the Governor declared that Dr. Joe Ladapo was all those things. He also dared to stand up for what was right even when it wasn’t easy. Lapado’s appointment as CDC director means MAHA (Make America Health Again) is more than just a slogan.

The White House retracted his nomination earlier this month. Now, President Donald Trump must find someone to fill the position.

Weldon made the statement in a press release that was posted on the websites of the New York Times, and Washington Post.

“I then spoke to HHS Secretary Bobbie Kennedy who was very upset. He was told the same thing and that he had been looking forward to working with me at CDC. He said I was the perfect person for the job.”

DeSantis proposed Ladapo as the nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services, but Trump chose Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to fill that position.

“Retweet if you’d like to see this man — Dr. Joseph Ladapo — serve as the Secretary of HHS in the new Trump administration,” DeSantis tweeted in November, sharing Ladapo’s photo in the post.
