On Thursday, people booed Vice President JD Vance at the Kennedy Center.
Andrew Roth, Global Affairs Correspondent for The Guardian and a Twitter user who shared a clip of this episode Thursday night said: “Boos to JD Vance when he walks into tonight’s Kennedy Center concert.”
Vance, seated next to his wife Usha, waved from a balcony amid the cacophony.
Richard Grenell, who serves as the Presidential Envoy on Special Missions at the Kennedy Center, has suggested that those of the left-wing political spectrum are “intolerant.”

The intolerant Left is a group of radicals that can’t sit down in a room with anyone who doesn’t share their views. What happened to the Democrats of today? He said, “They are intolerant.”
Reports indicate that the event took place at a National Symphony Orchestra Concert.
Vance, author of “Hillbilly Elegy,” noted previously that he had been shocked to learn that people enjoy listening to classical music.
“Elites use different words, eat different foods, listen to different music — I was astonished when I learned that people listened to classical music for pleasure — and generally occupy different worlds from America’s poor,” Vance said, according to The New York Times.
Last month, President Donald Trump reorganized the Kennedy Center’s leadership.
I have terminated the membership of the Board of Trustees of multiple individuals, including the chairman, who do not support our vision for a Golden Age of Arts and Culture. Soon, we will announce the new board, which includes an incredible Chairman: DONALD J. TRUMP!” In February, the president made this statement in part in a Truth Social posting.
Later, Grenell was announced as the interim executive director.
In a press release from the Kennedy Center, it was stated that “the Board appointed President of United States Donald J. Trump to be Kennedy Center Board chair, replacing former Chairman David M. Rubenstein” and “terminated Kennedy Center president Deborah F. Rutter’s contract, and announced Richard Grenell, as interim Kennedy Center president.”
In the press release, it was also announced that there were more than 12 new Kennedy Center Board of Trustees members, among them Usha Vance and Donald Trump.
