Late on Sunday, in the vicinity of the Las Vegas Strip, a tragic incident unfolded, resulting in the death of two individuals. The Las Vegas Metro Police have reported that it appears to be a calculated act of violence stemming from an online disagreement.
Undersheriff Andrew Walsh has declared that a suspect has been identified, but as of now, remains at large. The Las Vegas Metro Police, patrolling near the Bellagio Hotel & Casino, were alerted to the situation by the sound of gunshots around 10:40 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds, both of whom were later pronounced dead.

Walsh described the shooting as a singular and targeted event, an extension of an online dispute between the suspect and one of the victims. “It is believed that the suspect and the victims knew each other and had previously engaged in conflict over social media before the shooting,” the police said in a statement.
This raises important questions about the role of social media in escalating confrontations to violent conclusions.
