Los Angeles Police are investigating after it was reported that someone shot at a party on Sunday, killing a 16-year-old boy and injuring six other adults.
The shooting occurred at 1:30 am local time, in Tarzana. Tarzana is a suburb near Woodland Hills of the San Fernando Valley. Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Monday that the shooter was still at large as of Monday morning.
Police responded to a home about 20 miles north of downtown Los Angeles for a report of an alleged shooting. They found a large group of people at the scene.
The police reported that the arriving officers found the teenager lying on the ground with a gunshot injury in the driveway. Los Angeles Fire Department declared the boy was dead on the spot. Police said that the victim’s name was withheld until the next of kin identification.
Police said that six other people who were also shot are being treated in hospitals for their injuries.

- LAFD transported two men, both 36 years old, to the hospital
- A 37-year-old man was taken to hospital in a private vehicle
- A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital in a private vehicle
- A woman aged 20 was taken to hospital in a private vehicle
On Monday, the extent of their injuries or conditions was not immediately clear.
According to the police, the motive for this shooting is not yet known.
Police Lt. Guy Golan stated, “There were approximately 200 to 300 partygoers here, and some sort of altercation occurred which resulted in multiple shots being fired.”
