On Christmas Day, three people were taken to hospital after a New York City cab jumped over the curb in Herald Square and hit multiple pedestrians.

A spokesperson for the New York City Police Department confirmed that the incident took place on the sidewalk of Midtown Manhattan at 4:03 pm, as the taxi was heading north on Sixth Avenue.

Officials say that six pedestrians were struck by the taxi, including a 9-year-old boy and two women, aged 41 and 49.

All the pedestrians involved in the collision suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

Officials claim that the driver may have suffered from a medical episode. However, the investigation is still ongoing.
