Ukraine’s officials have reported that Russia has attacked Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine for a second night. Three people were hurt, two kindergartens were damaged, and industrial buildings were set ablaze.
Ihor Teremkhov, mayor of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, said that the attack was a long one, lasting most of the night. It also hit the largest and oldest district of the city.
Terekhov is a Telegram user who reported that five industrial buildings of a research and manufacturing enterprise were damaged.
The drone attack in the city caused damage to 11 apartment blocks, according to Terekhov.
This attack took place a week after a partial truce brokered by the United States regarding strikes on energy infrastructures and Black Sea Infrastructures. Each side has accused the other of violating this moratorium.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, it has destroyed 57 of the 131 drones that Russia launched in its overnight attack. This included two Iskander missiles.

The report said that 45 more drones were unable to reach their target due to electronic countermeasures.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s president, stated that Russia had fired more than 1,000 drones during the past week. Russia has claimed that Ukrainian drones have attacked its energy facilities over the last week.
In February of 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. The conflict lasted three years and was brutal. Each side denies that it is targeting civilians. They claim they are attacking each other to destroy their crucial infrastructures for war efforts.
According to a Ukrainian official, a Russian drone strike on Kharkiv over the weekend resulted in two deaths and 35 injuries.
Oleh Sinehubov stated that Oleh was the Governor of the Kharkiv Region. He said that the attacks took place after an aerial bombing attack that was launched on Kupiansk Sunday, which injured five people and destroyed an apartment.
Kupiansk, which was initially captured by Russia and later recaptured by Ukrainian forces, is now under new Russian pressure.
Moscow has yet to comment on the attack.
