The state-run TASS reported that President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, met with Kirill Dmitriev, Vladimir Putin’s investment envoy in St. Petersburg, on Friday.
Witkoff, who arrived earlier in the day on Friday, may meet with Putin as well.
Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin’s spokesman, said on Friday that he will announce any meeting between Putin and Witkoff that occurs if it is possible to fit such a meeting into Putin’s schedule.
