Three students have been injured in a stabbing incident at Carrick High School in Pittsburgh on Wednesday morning, according to local authorities.
The Pittsburgh Public Safety Department reports that police, fire, and emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene shortly after 8:30 a.m. following reports of an altercation that led to the stabbings. Two students were transported by Pittsburgh EMS with stab wounds to their abdomens, while a third victim sustained a minor laceration and was treated at the scene.
A male student was apprehended at the scene after sustaining a hand laceration. Following medical treatment, he was transported to police headquarters for further questioning. The Pittsburgh Public Schools, in a statement, disclosed that the suspect allegedly used a small knife to injure three other students.

The incident stemmed from an altercation in a hallway and was not random. The Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman, Cara Cruz, confirmed this information, stating that one victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition, another in stable condition, and the third had minor injuries.
The students involved range in age from 15 to 18. The exact age of the suspect is yet to be confirmed as the investigation continues. The school building is currently in a “secure” status and remains on lockdown while the scene is processed.
Cruz noted that classes are ongoing, but parents may pick up students if they choose. Authorities have appealed to anyone with video footage of the incident to contact Pittsburgh Police headquarters.
