A young sailor from the United States Navy, aged 21 and named Angelina ‘Angie’ Resendiz, previously reported missing in the state of Virginia, has tragically been found dead. According to reliable sources from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), another sailor is currently detained in connection with Resendiz’s death.
Reports indicate that Angie Resendiz was last seen on the morning of May 29th in her barracks located in Miller Hall at Naval Station Norfolk, based on information from the Virginia State Police. The unfortunate discovery of Resendiz’s body was made on Monday in a wooded area in Norfolk, and the confirmation that the remains were indeed of the missing sailor was made public on Tuesday by the NCIS.

Another sailor, whose identity is yet to be revealed, has been placed in pretrial confinement concerning the newly uncovered tragedy. According to NCIS, charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice are pending. They stated in a recent release, “NCIS remains committed to uncovering the facts surrounding the tragic death of Seaman Resendiz to ensure accountability and justice.”
Resendiz, originally from Texas, served as a culinary specialist on the USS James E. Williams, according to official Navy statements. After graduating from high school in 2023, Resendiz joined the Navy, as her mother, Esmeralda Castle, shared, because she felt a calling towards it. This young lady had aspirations of possibly cooking for the president and other world leaders one day, and was known to be hardworking on her ship.
This development follows earlier reports that the last person seen with Resendiz was also missing but later showed up without her. The anguish of a grieving mother is evident as Castle stated, “There are no answers for me. I just want my kid.” This raises important questions about the circumstances surrounding Resendiz’s disappearance and the subsequent tragedy.
