A Louisiana man faces murder charges after authorities discovered his wife’s body in the passenger seat of his vehicle during a routine traffic stop in Memphis, Tennessee, bringing to a grim conclusion what investigators believe was a multi-state journey with the victim’s remains.

Tyronne Brazille, 50, was apprehended by Memphis police Thursday following a traffic violation. Officers discovered the lifeless body of his wife, Lanessa Bradford, 50, seated beside him in the vehicle. Bradford had sustained a gunshot wound.

According to investigators in Baton Rouge, the shooting occurred during an argument at Independence Community Park in Louisiana. Following the alleged killing, Brazille drove through multiple states before being stopped by Memphis authorities. He remains in custody as a fugitive.

The case has revealed troubling circumstances surrounding Bradford’s final days. Shelicka Decker, a longtime friend of the victim, disclosed that Bradford had been planning to leave her husband after years of marriage. The plan involved careful preparation and financial planning.

“She had the money saved up. She had come up with a plan, and she was going to just vanish. That was the only way she would be able to get away from him,” Decker stated. Bradford intended to leave behind her car and possessions, coordinating with out-of-town family members to facilitate her departure.

The tragedy unfolded before Bradford could execute her escape plan. Decker revealed that Brazille had previously threatened violence, stating he would harm himself or Bradford if she attempted to leave the relationship. Despite these warnings, Decker said she never believed he would follow through with such threats.

The disturbing nature of the case has left those who knew Bradford with haunting questions about the hours or days Brazille allegedly spent driving with his wife’s body in the vehicle.

“I have so many questions, like, what were you doing in the car with her that amount of time while she was deceased,” Decker said. “Where was his mind at during that ride? It’s so crazy and heartbreaking.”

The investigation continues as authorities work to establish a complete timeline of events and determine the exact route Brazille traveled between Louisiana and Tennessee. The case serves as another sobering reminder of the dangers faced by individuals attempting to leave threatening domestic situations.

Brazille remains in custody pending extradition proceedings to Louisiana, where he will face formal charges in connection with his wife’s death. The investigation involves coordination between law enforcement agencies in multiple jurisdictions.
