Vice President JD Vance spoke Tuesday at the American Dynamism Summit about artificial intelligence. He explained that the Trump administration believes the U.S.’s dominance in AI, combined with the good old-fashioned American work ethic, offers a scenario of the best of both worlds to usher in what he calls the “great American Manufacturing Comeback.”

“…we are going to cut regulations, and we will reduce the cost of energy, so you can build more, more, more,” Vance said. “Our goal is to encourage investment in our borders, our businesses, our workers, and our innovation.”

He added, “We want people to invest and build right here in America.”

Something else he shared during the summit was his wife’s, Second Lady Usha Vance, hilarious reaction to bizarre remarks made by a billionaire tech CEO at a 2017 dinner, where the same subject was under discussion:

Vance described a dinner he and Usha attended in 2017 where they discussed the social concerns about replacing workers with artificial intelligence.

Vance remembered that one of the CEOs told him he wasn’t worried about people losing their jobs, and that they’d find a sense of purpose in ‘digital, fully immersive gaming’.

He continued, “My wife sent me a text message under the table saying, “We need to leave this place, these people are f-ing insane.” Watch here.

Usha Vance, the Second Lady of the United States, has taken a low-key approach since her appointment. She is mainly focused on fine-tuning and adjusting to her new duties and helping the Vance family’s three children (together with the Vice President) get accustomed to their new environment as Second Family members.

Unfortunately, being the spouse of Donald Trump’s vice president has brought along with it the usual hate and bashing from the left. The mainstream media has gotten in on the action as well, with CBS News trying to drag Mrs. Vance’s mother, University of California San Diego Sixth College provost Lakshmi Chilukuri, into the DEI debate because Mrs. Chilukuri, unlike JD Vance, is a proponent of DEI.

We documented the response of the veep at the time. It was a complete smackdown.

“This story exists because CBS has decided that harassing my mother-in-law is a reasonable price to attack President Trump,” Vance said in a statement after CBS News requested comment on their hit piece.

Vance told them, “I love my mother-in-law.” If she doesn’t agree with my DEI views, I guess I’ll just have to do as 99 percent of Americans would do: Get over it.

The Vances are a delight to watch, as they confidently and carefully navigate the turbulent political terrain of Washington/media with apparent ease. Although 2028 is still a ways off, I am already excited about what the future holds for the GOP leadership. More, please.
