After a black SUV was driven into crowds of people in a German town on Monday morning, a man was arrested, and at least one person was killed, and several were seriously injured.

In the Baden-Wurttemberg city of Mannheim am Rhein, several people were injured, including some who suffered serious injuries. At least one person, presumed dead, was found under a sheet covered in blood on Monday morning. The police have warned the public not to enter the area. Emergency services are on the scene, and a helicopter has landed near the incident.

The mirror city of Mannheim is Ludwigshafen, in Rhineland-Palatinate. A local newspaper from this twin community, Die Rheinpfalz, reported eyewitnesses describing a “rampage” and at least one death. Stuttgarter Zeitung reports that “debris and at least one victim were lying under a tarpaulin at the scene”.

Update

Die Rheinpfalz reports that local police held a presser, and officers “confirmed rampage”. One person died. Bild reports that police sources have confirmed the death toll is two and 25 injured. Frankfurter Runschau reports that University Hospital Mannheim was activated to deal with a “massive event”, and trauma teams for children and adults were set up.

The national newspaper Bild quotes their sources, who claim that a black SUV drove into a crowd “at high speeds” and the driver was arrested.

The police have not yet commented on this incident’s cause or if there was a known motive. In the last decade, driving a car at high speed into crowds has become a common occurrence in German cities.

A Saudi Arabian “doctor” plowed through crowds at a Christmas Market at the Cathedral Square in Magdeburg, as reported previously. Five people, including a young child, were killed, and hundreds of others were injured.

In February, an Afghani migrant crashed his car into a crowd of people in Munich. This resulted in the deaths of two and injuries to dozens. One of the victims was again a child. Both attacks were perpetrated by men who could be described as model migrants. They had jobs and appeared to have a superficial integration into society. This is a new and difficult development for the heavily pro-migration European government.
