CNBC reported on Wednesday that CNN, a Warner Bros Discovery unit, will lay off hundreds of workers Thursday as it refocuses its business to a global audience.
CNBC reported that the job cuts will be made as CNN restructures its linear TV line-up and builds out digital subscription services. It also said it would help CNN reduce production costs and consolidate their teams. Reports said that some shows produced in New York and Washington could be moved to Atlanta where production costs are lower.

According to the report, Comcast-owned NBC News is also planning to cut jobs later this week. The number of layoffs is not known, but it will be less than 50.
Comcast and Warner Bros Discovery didn’t immediately respond to comment requests.
