Brandon Blackstock, the 48-year-old talent manager and former husband of singer Kelly Clarkson, has died after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Blackstock passed away peacefully, surrounded by family members. A representative for the Blackstock family confirmed the news, stating that Brandon had fought cancer for more than three years. The family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
Blackstock was the father of four children, including two with Kelly Clarkson: 10-year-old River and 8-year-old Remy. He had two older children, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage. In 2022, Blackstock became a grandfather when Savannah gave birth to a son.

Blackstock and Clarkson were married in 2013 but divorced in 2020, citing irreconcilable differences. Clarkson, who rose to fame after winning “American Idol,” had recently announced a pause in her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace, citing the need to be “fully present” for her children during their father’s illness.
This development follows earlier reports that Clarkson would postpone her remaining August performances. The Colosseum at Caesars Palace has confirmed this decision and is offering ticket holders options for rescheduling or refunds.
The significance of this event extends beyond the immediate family. Blackstock was also the stepson of country music star Reba McEntire, who was married to his father, Narvel Blackstock, until 2015.
It’s worth noting that Kelly Clarkson had previously taken time away from her daytime talk show earlier this spring, with guest hosts filling in. At the time, no official explanation was given for her absence.
