Alex Cooper, the 32-year-old host of the popular podcast “Call Her Daddy,” has welcomed her first child with husband Matt Kaplan. The couple announced the birth of their son through social media this week, marking a new chapter for the media entrepreneur who has built one of the most successful platforms in digital broadcasting.

Cooper shared the news Tuesday with a photograph of her newborn son dressed in a blue outfit, accompanied simply by a blue heart. Two days later, she posted additional photographs documenting her pregnancy journey, describing the experience as “the most transformative 9 months of my life.”

The announcement comes several months after Cooper and Kaplan, a 42-year-old Hollywood producer, revealed they were expecting their first child together in May. The couple has not disclosed the child’s name.

Cooper’s pregnancy was not without its challenges. In July, she publicly disclosed her diagnosis of gestational diabetes, a condition that affects between six and nine percent of pregnancies in the United States, according to the American Diabetes Association. The condition occurs when placental hormones cause insulin resistance, preventing the pancreas from producing sufficient insulin to maintain normal blood sugar levels.

In her candid announcement about the diagnosis, Cooper acknowledged the emotional toll it took on her. She admitted to being initially hard on herself and feeling isolated by the condition. However, she ultimately focused on ensuring the health of her baby.

“This diagnosis was so upsetting, I think, because during pregnancy, there’s already so much emotionally that you’re going through,” Cooper explained at the time. “I am so blessed and there’s been so many incredible parts of my pregnancy, but it’s a lot.”

Cooper and Kaplan married in April 2024. Together, they co-founded the Unwell Network, a subsidiary of the media company Trending. Cooper serves as founder of the network, which has expanded beyond her flagship podcast to include additional programming.

The “Call Her Daddy” podcast has become a significant force in digital media, attracting millions of listeners and high-profile guests. Cooper’s willingness to discuss personal matters, including her health challenges during pregnancy, reflects the candid approach that has characterized her broadcasting style and contributed to her success.

Gestational diabetes typically resolves after childbirth, though women who experience the condition face an increased risk of developing Type 2 diabetes later in life. Medical professionals emphasize the importance of monitoring and managing the condition during pregnancy to ensure positive outcomes for both mother and child.

As Cooper transitions into motherhood, her audience and followers have responded with congratulations and support. The announcement represents a personal milestone for the broadcaster, whose influence in the podcast industry continues to grow as she balances her expanding professional endeavors with her new role as a parent.
