Actor Derek Dixon, in a recent television interview, has levied allegations of sexual harassment and assault against media mogul Tyler Perry. This follows a lawsuit against Perry that Dixon has filed, with the claim amounting to $260 million.
Dixon’s relationship with Perry is reported to have begun at a studio opening party in 2019. Dixon, then working at an events company, says Perry expressed interest in his acting ambitions. This led to Dixon landing a role in Perry’s BET series “The Oval,” where he appeared in 85 episodes from 2021 to 2025.
According to reliable sources, the civil complaint cites instances where Perry allegedly sent sexual texts to Dixon. Perry’s lawyer, Matthew Boyd, has since dismissed these allegations as a scam, asserting that Perry will not be shaken down by fabricated claims.

Dixon alleges that Perry’s physical behavior began to reflect the tone of his text messages in early 2020. He claims that an incident occurred at Perry’s guest house, where he was allegedly invited to stay overnight. Dixon also alleges that similar incidents occurred on the set of “The Oval” and at Perry’s home in Atlanta.

Dixon terminated his communication with Perry in the spring of 2024 and subsequently left “The Oval” in September of the same year. He also states that a show he had been writing, which Perry owns the rights to, never made it beyond the pilot stage.
Dixon has filed a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, a federal agency tasked with protecting workers from discrimination.
The $260 million in damages Dixon is seeking in his lawsuit is based on both lost income and serving as a deterrent for potential future misconduct.
This raises important questions about the treatment of employees in the entertainment industry. Dixon hopes that his lawsuit will lead to Perry taking accountability for his alleged actions and serve as a warning to others in positions of power.
