Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) had to quiet a protester against Israel who called her a “liar” in her Queens Town Hall on Friday night, before the protester was ejected.
“I want you to tell me what you are doing about the genocide that is taking place in Gaza!” The woman shouted at AOC, pointing to her on stage, and referring to Israel’s Gaza war. “Shame on you! You’re a liar!”
AOC tried to silence the protester first by saying that she would “be happy” to answer the question during the town hall. She then asked for silence to first get her message across about the Department of Government Efficiency cutbacks, which have left portions of the district in danger, according to the Independent U.K.
The protester continued to persist and was booted.

AOC tried to calm down the protester by saying, “We’ll be getting to that in the Q&A.”
AOC addressed the crowd when the protester was removed. “I welcome those who disagree with me or are angry at me about any topic, but there are some ground rules.”
Please wait until the Q&A, as we do not want to deny our neighbors the opportunity to hear and learn from each other.
For years, protesters have targeted political town halls. It has become so serious that the Republican Party even asked lawmakers to stop these events, because activists on the far left, like those who rebuked liberal firebrand AOC, have turned honest attempts to communicate with their constituents into chaos.
