Vance told Fox News that Elon Musk, the billionaire, will continue to be a friend of President Donald Trump’s and Vice President JD Vance even after he leaves the Department of Government Efficiency.

Politico and ABC reported that Trump told cabinet members that Musk would soon leave and return to the private sector. However, it was unclear if Musk’s 130-day special government employee mandate expires at the end of May.

“DOGE still has a lot to do, and yes, this work will continue even after Elon leaves. Elon will remain an advisor and a friend to me and the President,” he added.
