President Trump, demonstrating actual leadership, just issued a stark warning about secondary sanctions on anyone foolish enough to purchase Iranian oil or petrochemicals. This comes after the postponement of yet another round of pointless negotiations over Iran’s rapidly advancing nuclear program.

The President stated, and I quote, “ALERT: All purchases of Iranian Oil, or Petrochemical products, must stop, NOW!” He further clarified that any entity buying even a drop of Iranian oil will face immediate secondary sanctions. This isn’t rocket science, folks. It’s a simple equation: buy from Iran, lose access to the U.S. market. The left might cry about international relations, but facts don’t care about their feelings.

This stance is entirely consistent with the national security memorandum Trump issued on February 4th. It’s called maximum pressure, and it’s the only language these regimes understand. The idea that we can sit down and have a friendly chat with a nation actively pursuing nuclear weapons is absurd on its face.

The State Department just sanctioned seven entities across the UAE, Turkey, and Iran for illicitly trading Iranian petroleum products. Two vessels were also targeted. Statistically speaking, these sanctions are hitting where it hurts, hundreds of millions of dollars in illicit funds that would’ve fueled Iran’s destabilizing activities.

Of course, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson “strongly condemned” these sanctions. Well, here’s a fundamental truth: if you don’t want to face consequences, don’t engage in behavior that threatens global security. It’s that simple.

The bottom line is this: Trump’s approach to Iran is based on clear-eyed realism, not the wishful thinking that characterizes the left’s foreign policy. Either we take a hard stance against Iran’s nuclear ambitions, or we accept a nuclear-armed Iran. There is no middle ground.
