During a commencement ceremony at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California, on Friday, a tree unexpectedly fell onto spectators, injuring at least 12 individuals.

The tree, located adjacent to the college’s football field, tumbled near the conclusion of the graduation ceremony. This development follows earlier reports that two of the injured individuals were conveyed to local hospitals for treatment. According to reliable sources at Diablo Valley College, these individuals were conscious and communicative at the time of transport. Other injured parties were treated onsite and subsequently released.

Reports indicate that one additional person sought medical attention independently. Following the incident, the college’s maintenance and operations team commenced the process of removing the fallen tree.
