As part of an investigation by the Defense Department into unauthorized leaks of information, three top Pentagon officials have been suspended.
Politico reported on Wednesday that the third suspension known to be related involves Colin Carroll, the former chief of staff for the Deputy Defense Secretary. Stephen Feinberg.
Carroll’s suspension comes after two other Pentagon officials were removed from their posts as part of the review of how proprietary Pentagon data was being shared with unintended recipients.

On Tuesday, security escorted Dan Caldwell out of the Pentagon after he was placed on administrative leave. He is a senior advisor to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
According to Politico, the second suspension involved Darin Selnick. The Pentagon deputy chief was also suspended and removed from the Pentagon.
Politico reported that the sensitive information, which was not shared with the government’s authorized recipients, included “military operations plans for the Panama Canal; a second carrier heading to the Red Sea; Elon Musk’s controversial visit at the Pentagon, and the pausing of the collection of intelligence in Ukraine.”
The Pentagon did not post a press release regarding personnel issues.
