A Democratic candidate seeking a seat in the United States House of Representatives from Texas is facing questions about his judgment following revelations of an extensive digital trail of pornography-related posts spanning more than a decade.

Bobby Pulido, an award-winning musician who has transitioned into politics, maintained a social media presence from 2013 through 2024 that included numerous links, images, and references to explicit adult content. The posts, which remain accessible on his social media accounts, present a pattern of behavior that raises concerns about the candidate’s understanding of appropriate conduct for someone seeking federal office.

The documented activity began in 2013, when Pulido directed his followers to visit YouPorn, a pornographic website, suggesting they do so if bored. That same year, he shared links to adult websites that featured music from fellow musicians, questioning whether those artists received royalties for their work being used on such platforms. Later in 2013, he posted a direct link to XVideos, an explicit content site, accompanied by the caption “homemade porn while sleep-deprived?”

The pattern continued into subsequent years. In 2014, Pulido wrote that it was “impossible to have Twitter and not watch porn.” When he posted another link to YouPorn in 2015, he later removed it and claimed his account had been compromised by hackers.

In 2016, Pulido referenced the shutdown of XVideos, informing his followers that alternative free sites existed, adding the qualifier “that’s what they’ve told me” before concluding with the hashtag “you’re welcome.”

This revelation comes at a time when both major political parties have emphasized the importance of character and judgment in their candidates. The Democratic Party has particularly stressed the need for elected officials who demonstrate respect and professionalism in all aspects of their public lives.

Pulido’s candidacy represents part of the Democratic Party’s broader recruitment effort in Texas, where the party has worked to field candidates in competitive districts. His background as a musician with Latin Grammy recognition was viewed as an asset that could help connect with voters in his district.

The candidate has previously made headlines for other controversial actions, including an incident involving damage to former President Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

As the campaign progresses, voters in the district will need to weigh whether this pattern of social media behavior reflects the judgment and character they expect from their representative in Congress. The posts, spanning eleven years, suggest not merely isolated lapses but a sustained approach to public communication that many may find incompatible with the dignity of federal office.

The Democratic Party has not yet issued a statement regarding Pulido’s social media history or whether it affects his standing as a candidate.

And that is the way it is.
