Texas law enforcement officials have released dashcam footage showing what they believe to be the last confirmed sighting of 19-year-old Camila Mendoza Olmos, who disappeared from her San Antonio home on the morning of Christmas Eve.
The grainy video, captured on Wildhorse Parkway between Shetland Wind and Caspian Spring in Bexar County, shows a solitary figure wearing clothing consistent with what Mendoza Olmos had on when she stepped outside her family residence that morning. A neighbor driving to work recorded the footage on a dashboard camera just blocks from the teen’s home.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar addressed reporters at a Monday briefing, emphasizing the importance of the video evidence. “We’re sharing that with you all in hopes that somebody may have collected similar video,” he stated. “To this point, really, this was the best direction of flight that we were able to develop.”
Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of abduction. Based on the available evidence, investigators believe Mendoza Olmos left her home on Caspian Spring, turned left onto the parkway, and continued northward. Her destination and what transpired afterward remain unknown.
The missing teenager was last seen wearing a baby blue and black hoodie, baby blue pajama pants, and white shoes. Law enforcement officials have indicated they believe she may be in imminent danger.
Nancy Olmos, the missing teen’s aunt, spoke publicly Tuesday morning about the family’s concerns. “We just have a feeling that someone took her,” she said. “Someone took her from outside.” The family has been cooperating fully with investigators as the search continues.
The aunt also addressed circulating speculation regarding Mendoza Olmos’s former boyfriend, characterizing such rumors as unfounded. According to family members, the relationship ended amicably, and the two families have maintained a close relationship for many years.
Destiny Mendoza, the missing teen’s cousin, reported that nothing appeared out of the ordinary during their last conversation on December 23. “Everything was completely normal, it was just, ‘Oh I love you I’ll talk to you after the gym,'” she recalled. She added that her cousin was not particularly interested in outdoor activities such as hiking or nature trails, a detail that may prove relevant to the investigation.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mendoza Olmos’s disappearance. Sheriff Salazar has appealed to the public for assistance, particularly from residents in the area who may have dashboard cameras or home security systems that could have captured relevant footage during the early morning hours of December 24.
The case has drawn significant attention in the San Antonio community, with local residents expressing concern for the young woman’s safety. As the investigation enters its second week, authorities remain committed to determining what happened to Mendoza Olmos and bringing her home safely.
Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office immediately. Even seemingly minor details could prove crucial to the ongoing investigation.
