Actor and recording artist Tyrese Gibson surrendered himself to Fulton County authorities today, October 3rd, 2025, following charges of animal cruelty in an incident that has shaken a quiet Atlanta neighborhood. Gibson was released on $20,000 bond after being formally booked at the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

The charges stem from a devastating incident on September 18th, when four Cane Corso dogs, reportedly belonging to Gibson, escaped from his Atlanta mansion and fatally attacked a neighbor’s Cavalier King Charles spaniel. The victim, a small dog named Henry, belonged to Harrison Parker, who discovered his pet’s body in what he describes as deeply distressing circumstances.

“The pack of those four dogs was there minutes before I found Henry’s body,” Parker told this reporter. “And there were absolutely no cars, no humans, just the dogs. And he was dead. And the fact he died like that, alone in the darkness at night, and I wasn’t there… It’s just horrible.”

Law enforcement attempted to impound the four dogs on September 22nd, but their efforts were met with resistance. Upon arriving at Gibson’s residence, officers found the actor absent, and his assistant requested additional time to relocate the animals. This non-compliance led to the issuance of an arrest warrant.

Robb Pitts, chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Fulton County, Georgia, expressed ongoing concerns about the case. “While Gibson has turned himself in this week, he is still not cooperating,” Pitts stated. “We can’t force him to tell us where the dogs are, but the judge will be able to compel him to turn the dogs over to us. From our point of view, the dogs will be deemed as dangerous based on everything that has happened in the past.”

Gibson, known for his roles in the “Fast and Furious” film franchise, was not present at his property when the incident occurred. Through his legal representatives, the actor has issued a statement maintaining his cooperation with authorities: “Throughout this entire process, Mr. Gibson has cooperated fully with legal authorities and will continue to do so until this matter is resolved.”

The actor has also expressed remorse through social media, stating he is “devastated and heartbroken” for the Parker family. “To the family who lost their beloved pet: please know that I am praying for you, grieving with you, and will continue to face this tragedy with honesty, responsibility, and compassion,” Gibson wrote.

As this case unfolds, Mr. Parker, the bereaved pet owner, remains resolute in his pursuit of justice, stating simply, “I really hope that justice is fully served.”

This incident raises serious questions about responsible pet ownership and the obligations of those who keep potentially dangerous animals in residential areas. The location of Gibson’s four Cane Corso dogs remains unknown to authorities at this hour.
