The left’s darling independent senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont, who cozies up to the Democrats, has just told the Democratic Party that simply “resisting President Trump isn’t good enough.” This nugget of wisdom was dropped during an interview with HuffPost.

Sanders argues that the American people not only crave resistance to Trump but also desire an agenda that the Democratic Party has failed to provide in recent years—an agenda that caters to the working class. He also implied that the majority of Americans view Trump as a “terrible guy,” a sentiment echoed by the left. But Sanders wants the Democrats to offer more.

Sanders, who’s been touring the country with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is also a prominent climate change activist and a proponent of the Green New Deal. However, he’s been caught chartering private jets for his events—a fact that has earned him a fair share of criticism from Republicans. A Federal Election Commission report found that Sanders’ campaign committee, Friends of Bernie Sanders, shelled out a whopping $221,723 to charter private jets in the first quarter alone. So, for all his talk about climate change and working-class needs, it seems Sanders is more than happy to spew carbon emissions when it suits him.

Gerard Kassar, chair of the New York Conservative Party, labeled Ocasio-Cortez’s actions as “out-of-touch” with her principles, stating, “It’s rich in hypocrisy.” By definition, that’s the perfect description for Sanders and his ilk.

In conclusion, Sanders’ message to Democrats about needing more than just resistance against Trump is undermined by his own hypocrisy. His use of private jets while preaching climate conservation and advocating for the working class exposes the left’s fundamental misunderstanding of their own principles. And that’s something the left simply cannot refute. Those are the facts, regardless of how they make anyone feel.
