Norwegian authorities have reported that Marius Borg Høiby, the eldest son of Norway’s crown princess, is now facing numerous charges, including an accusation of rape, following a comprehensive investigation.
The state attorney of Oslo, Sturla Henriksbø, has indicated that Høiby could serve up to a decade in prison if found guilty, according to reliable sources at broadcaster NRK. The array of 32 counts includes alleged rape, abuse within a close relationship against a former partner, and violent acts towards another. Additional charges encompass making death threats and committing traffic violations.

Høiby is the 28-year-old son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit and stepson of the heir apparent, Crown Prince Haakon, has been under the legal microscope since his multiple arrests last year on differing allegations. He remains free while awaiting trial, and there is no immediate cause to arrest him, as stated by Henriksbø.
The prosecutors’ office projects the trial to commence in mid-January and continue for a period of approximately six weeks, according to reports from NRK. It’s important to note that Høiby, despite being the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit and stepson of Crown Prince Haakon, holds no regal title or official duties.

Høiby’s defense maintains that while he takes the accusations seriously, he does not admit guilt in the majority of the cases, particularly those involving sexual abuse and violence.
The royal palace has expressed its stance, emphasizing that the courts have the responsibility to manage the case and reach an outcome, and has nothing further to add.
