A longtime ally of California Gov. Gavin Newsom repeatedly helped a now-former CCP official while she was serving as the Chinese consul in San Francisco, according to a LinkedIn post unearthed by Fox News.

Ying He, the Chinese Consul General in San Francisco from 2012 to 2016, praised Darlene Chiu Bryant in a LinkedIn recommendation in 2017. He called the former Newsom aide, and a long-time ally of Governor Newsom, a “Super Lady.”

He was the director of the Division of Commerce (a CCP government body) at the time of this 2017 LinkedIn posting. She is a PR expert who can handle the toughest tasks. When I was the consul of SF, she helped me a great deal in promoting US-Sino trade and investment. She is, in all, a super lady and friend who needs her.

LinkedIn shows that Ying He has held multiple positions at the Ministry of Commerce over ten years. Her profile also boasts of “extensive contacts with Chinese and U.S. government” as well as “15+ years working for a Chinese central agency and four years in San Francisco.”

Bryant served as executive director for ChinaSF at the time the LinkedIn posting was made. The organization is now under increased scrutiny due to its links to the CCP and the fact that it recruited over 100 Chinese firms to San Francisco. The book has a section dedicated to Newsom’s involvement in launching a non-profit organization nearly a decade ago, back in 2008.

Newsom praised Suntech’s CEO, Dr. Zhengrong Shi, publicly and appointed him to the ChinaSF advisory board.

The book claims that in addition to the green energy companies, there were real estate firms involved. It alleges that Newsom was given over $23,000 anonymously by Chinese real estate firm Z&L, whose billionaire CEO had been sentenced after bribing an official of San Francisco. ChinaSF published a picture in 2017 of Bryant and Newsom standing next to a Z&L Properties wall.

The caption of the picture said, “ChinaSF started by Gavin Newsom as Mayor of San Francisco back in 2008.” “Proud of our work with partners and companies brought to the SF Bay Area.”

China Daily is a Chinese media outlet. According to them, Newsom founded the group in Shanghai.

Newsom stated that the two things most important to him were energy independence and building a closer relationship with China.

Bryant was mentioned repeatedly in “Fool’s Gold”: The radicals, con artists, and traitors who killed the California Dream now threaten us all.

The authors Susan Crabtree & Jedd McCFatter argue in the book that ChinaSF was used as a portal for CCP officials & Chinese criminals who wanted to take advantage of California. Bryant’s involvement in ChinaSF is evident on her Facebook page and personal profile. Also, there are several pictures of Bryant and Newsom, as well as other California politicians.

GlobalSF shared a picture in 2019 of Newsom at an event with Bryant. Bryant appears to have written the caption for this photo, calling Newsom “a visionary leader.”

“So good to see my ex boss now Governor of our Golden State of [California], [Gavin Newsom],” the post said. “As a visionary leader, he started [ChinaSF] in 2008 to be the China Desk for the city and county of [San Francisco] to facilitate inbound investment.”

A photo posted on Facebook depicts Bryant at Newsom’s induction, early 2019.

Huang Ping oversaw an office in New York City and promoted CCP propagandists while publicly denying the Uyghur genocide.

Ping’s controversial statements and frequent travels to U.S. colleges and events to meet with elected officials and business leaders prompted some to worry about possible influence-peddling by the CCP.

In 2013, Michael Sobolik said that the Chinese Communist Party was playing at every level, including nuclear. It’s not only the universities. “The Chinese Communist Party wants to penetrate every part of American society.”

“If we try to edit undo our way out of this whole list of infiltrations and threats that the CCP sends our direction that’s good policy work. We need to insulate ourselves. But good housekeeping is the bare minimum of waging a cold war and winning a cold war,” Sobolik added.
