The Los Angeles wildfires destroyed the home of Milo Ventimiglia, his wife Jarah Mariano, and their unborn child.

The Emmy-nominated actor and “This Is Us” alum revealed his family’s Malibu home burned down during an interview with CBS News published Thursday. As part of the interview, Ventimiglia took a tour of his neighborhood with CBS host Tony Dokoupil to survey the damage to his home, which proved to be an emotional visit.

Ventimiglia, visibly choked-up, said: “You start to think about all the different memories in the different parts of the home and whatnot.” “And you see the houses of your neighbors and everything around and your heart just breaks.”

Ventimiglia said that he and Mariano watched as their California home went up in flames on security footage. “At some point, we turned it off, and accepted the loss.”

On Thursday, firefighters continued to fight multiple deadly wildfires which have raged across Los Angeles, since Tuesday. They destroyed or damaged an estimated 4,000-5,000 homes, businesses, and vehicles, as well as other structures.

Cal Fire reports that at least six fires are burning in LA County. They have scorched more than 40 square kilometers of the area. Palisades Fire on the coast of Pacific Palisades and Eaton Fire located in the San Gabriel Mountains foothills east, remain the two largest fires, with zero containment.

Ventimiglia played Jack Pearson in “This Is Us”, a character who died from smoke inhalation after a fire. Ventimiglia said to Dokoupil, “It’s not lost on me, that life imitates art.”

Hollywood has also been affected by the fires. Paris Hilton, James Woods, Cameron Mathison, Billy Crystal, Tina Knowles, and James Woods are just some of the celebrities who have been forced to flee the fires.

Ventimiglia, despite the disaster, remained hopeful about his family’s prospects. Mariano is expecting “any day now.” She is nine months pregnant.

Ventimiglia stated, “We have good friends and good people with whom we work, so we will make it.” “Wife, baby, and dog — that’s what matters most.”
