Education Secretary Linda McMahon warned the nation’s leaders in education on Friday that if they don’t respect parental rights, they could lose federal funding.

McMahon wrote a letter addressed to “Dear Colleague”, advising the nation’s state chief school officials and superintendents that the Trump Administration will no longer turn a blind eye to leftist indoctrination.

McMahon stated that the COVID-19 lockdowns and remote learning allowed many American parents to witness the “perverse” indoctrination of our nation’s children. They were able to see “at their kitchen tables” the prevalence of gender ideology.

Parents are the natural protectors of children. McMahon wrote that many school districts and states have policies that suggest students need protection from parents.

The Trump administration reminded school administrators of the obligations they have under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment. McMahon said that to comply, schools must provide parents with access to their child’s education records. This includes any documents relating to the student’s gender identity.

“These states have turned privacy upside down, putting the privileges and rights of government officials above the rights and welfare of families and parents. She added that the future application of FERPA would empower parents to protect children from radical ideologies in schools.

The first executive order that Donald Trump signed stated that the U.S. Government only recognized two sexes and that it would push back on those who “deny biological reality of sexuality.”

McMahon’s letter is a continuation of the president’s order, which stated that “Gender ideologies are internally inconsistent in that they diminish sex as a useful or identifiable category, but maintain that it is still possible for someone to be born with the wrong gendered body.”
