A 40-year old man from California was arrested after he claimed he would be the bomber at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival.

According to the Cathedral City Police Department, Davis Darvish from Santa Monica, California, allegedly made a threat at the Agua Caiente Casino.

Police said that when he was arrested about an hour after his arrest, they found no explosives or bomb-making material in his possession, nor his vehicle.

The casino where the alleged threats were made is approximately 17 miles away from Empire Polo Club, where Coachella takes place. The Coachella music festival is currently in its first weekend and attracts tens of thousands of people.

The casino called the police shortly before 11:00 Saturday morning. According to police, officers were able quickly to identify the Tesla Darvis was driving. They notified the law enforcement personnel at the festival that they should be on the alert.

CCPD reported that Cathedral City police “used FLOCK ALPR technology (automated license plate recognition) to track Darvish throughout the Coachella Valley.”

Palm Springs police officers found Darvish’s vehicle around 12:11 local time.

PSPD detained Darvish, and CCPD detectives responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation.

Darvish is currently being held at the John Benoit Detention Center of Indio on a $1 million bail.
