Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have split after 16 years of marriage, but both vow to “forever remain family.”

Alba, 43 announced her separation from Warren, 46, a film producer, on Thursday via an Instagram post.

“I have been on a long journey of self-realization, and transformation — as an individual, and with Cash”. “I’m proud of our growth as a couple, and in our marriage, over the past 20 years. It’s time to embark on a brand new chapter of personal growth and evolution,” she wrote.

“We will always be family and we will move forward in love, kindness, and respect.” “We are requesting privacy because our children remain the most important thing to us.”

The couple met in 2004 on the set “Fantastic Four”. They have three children: Honor (16 years old), Haven (13 years old), and Hayes (7 years old).

Media outlets reported that the couple was headed for divorce earlier this month. Alba did not post about her husband’s birthday, which was on January 10, as she usually does.

Hayes turned 7 years old and the “Trigger Warning’ actress shared pictures from their family trip to Universal Studios Hollywood.

Alba and Warren celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary in May last year with a collage of pictures from over the years.

She wrote: “16 years married, 20 years together, and forever more to go…Happy Anniversary @cash_warren. I’m so proud of us that we made it this far.”

“There is no real set of rules or guidance that can ever prepare you for what it means to commit to another person and choose to be family. Through thick and thin we have continually found our way back to each other and have chosen one another. Cheers to us, I love you.”

Alba made a major announcement in her life when she announced that, after 12 years of founding The Honest Company’s personal care line, she would step down as Chief Creative Officer.
