Jamaal Bowman is back and he shouldn’t be. The former congressman, who appeared on CNN Thursday, launched into an insane tirade against Elon Musk. He called the businessman and DOGE chief a “thief,” and a “Nazi”.
Bowman lost his House of Representatives seat after being primaried by George Latimer, now Rep. (D-NY). Bowman’s insanity and a long list of scandals culminated in this.
BOWMAN: That is not true and it shows that the American public does not trust Elon and Elon in his current position. Elon is incompetent. How do we know this? They fired tens and thousands of employees, it was challenged, and the court ruled that the people had to return, and they are now returning. He is incompetent and a nazi. People don’t trust this man.
Abby Phillip can be heard at the end of the clip after Bowman has said what he said. She is a leftist hack, but smart enough to know that having guests make such comments can be a liability for her network. Of course, no one made CNN bring Bowman on. It was a bad choice. This is not someone who should have a platform. He is a race-grifting idiot who was most famous for pulling an illegal fire alarm to obstruct the vote in Congress (for which he pleaded). He lost his primary election and was kicked out of the political arena. What analytical expertise can he provide?
Bowman’s argument fails on many levels. It is absurd that he would call Musk, who has been one of the most successful entrepreneurs in history, “incompetent”. Bowman was a teacher before he became a congressman. He called standardized testing “slavery”, which is his standard response to anything. If he wanted to improve his prospects, he would blame racism for the blue sky. During his tenure as a teacher, the results for New York students plummeted.
A left-wing judge in a lower court does not have final authority over someone’s competence. We have an appeals process for this reason. Many of these absurd temporary restraining orders, such as those that ordered the Trump administration to rehire federal workers who were laid off, will be overturned.
Musk’s claim to be a “thief” is quite serious, isn’t it? What has the SpaceX’s founder stolen? And from who? Bowman does not mention this, nor does he offer any proof for his claim Musk is a Nazi. These are not labels to be used lightly. CNN should think twice before inviting this lunatic back on air.
Bowman appears to have forgotten that it’s not true. This means that he is no longer entitled to the same broad defamation laws as House members. Musk might want to consider filing a lawsuit in this case. I know that defamation of public figures is a higher bar to be met, but it won’t stop until somebody is made an instance. Bowman would be the ideal person for that position.
