Florida’s Attorney-General James Uthmeier announced on Thursday that his office, along with America First Legal, has filed a lawsuit against Target, accusing it of “targeting and sexifying children” in their marketing. But he did not stop there, pointing out how many Floridians have been put in danger by Target’s actions.

Uthmeier announced the suit via a video posted on his X-account.

Today, we filed a suit against Target for the Florida State Board of Administration. Target’s sexualization of children has caused its stock to plummet. This has harmed Florida’s pension fund and put the retirements and salaries of Florida’s teachers and first responders in danger.

The Florida Attorney General says that the retailer’s “woke” marketing hurts the retirement fund of the state.

At the expense of shareholder return, misleading shareholders, and pushing a harmful, leftist agenda.

Target, while telling their investors that they would protect the stock value by keeping the company out of controversy, engaged in a sexualized marketing campaign aimed at children.

He reminds the viewers of all the products Target has pushed. These include “rainbow sports shirts for boys, swimsuits for children with transgender features and books for children that ask them question their biological realities.”

Target’s stock dropped by $10 billion within 10 days as a result of this radical campaign. This puts the retirement funds of Florida’s educators and first responders in unacceptable danger. We should not let our public servants’ retirement be compromised because of companies that put shareholder returns before leftist virtue signaling.

Uthmeier ends the announcement with a mention that he is “a father of three young children” and that “this fight is worth having and we will fight for Target to be held financially accountable,” hinting at other major companies hearing from his office as well. Stay tuned!
