Reports from New York City indicate that a 99-year-old man has been assaulted and robbed in his Washington Heights residence. The New York Police Department is seeking public assistance in identifying the perpetrator of this brazen home invasion.

On Monday morning at approximately 10 a.m., an unidentified individual approached the elderly victim at the entrance of his residential building. According to police sources, a struggle ensued at the gate, resulting in the suspect forcibly entering the premises.

Once inside, the assailant reportedly brandished a firearm, pressing it against the victim’s throat. The suspect then compelled the man to lead him to an office within the building. It is there that the robber allegedly absconded with approximately $20,000 before fleeing on foot.

Emergency services responded to the scene, transporting the victim to New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Medical reports indicate the elderly man suffered two broken fingers and a laceration to his hand.
