A university student by the name of James Nichols, hailing from Ohatchee, Alabama, has been reported missing for over a week. According to reliable sources from the Jacksonville State University police department, the search for Nichols has engaged officials across the East Coast.
Nichols, a student at Jacksonville State University, has not been seen since the morning of August 28th. It has been reported that he departed from the university campus that day in a blue, four-door 1999 Chevrolet Malibu with Alabama license plate 11AEM5U.

The vehicle was found traveling north on Highway 431 in Glencoe, Alabama, and later spotted in Pawling, New York, approximately 73 miles from New York City. This raises important questions about Nichols’ direction and destination.

According to Police Chief Michael Barton of Jacksonville State University, dialogues have been initiated with New York law enforcement, and the case has been entered into the national criminal justice database. Officers, Barton said, are “working around the clock” to resolve the situation.
While the police are determined to locate James and ensure his safety, the university, out of respect for Nichols’ family, has said no further details regarding the investigation will be provided at this time.
Officials urge anyone with information about Nichols’ whereabouts to contact the Jacksonville State University Police Department or their local law enforcement agency.
