Houthis claim that overnight suspected U.S. aerial strikes around Yemen’s rebel-held capital killed six people and injured 30 others.
According to figures released by the Houthi Health Ministry on Monday, since the campaign began nearly a month back, over 120 people have been killed in the U.S. airstrikes launched under President Donald Trump against the rebels for their attacks on ships in Mideast waters – related to the Israel/Hamas conflict.
Al-Masirah, the satellite news channel of the Houthis, aired footage showing firefighters spraying water onto a fire that they claimed was caused by airstrikes. Rescuers swept away a person from the site, which rebels said was a ceramics plant in Sanaa’s Bani Matar district.

Central Command, the U.S. military command that oversees American military activities, has not acknowledged the strikes. This is a common pattern for the Central Command, which has been permitted by the White House to carry out strikes at will during the campaign that began on March 15.
The American military has also not provided any information about the targets that were hit. White House officials have said that over 200 airstrikes have been carried out so far.
According to an AP review, the new U.S. campaign against the Houthis led by President Donald Trump is more extensive than the one under the former president Joe Biden. Washington has moved from targeting only launch sites to firing on high-ranking personnel and dropping bombs in cities.

Airstrikes began after the rebels had threatened to start targeting Israeli ships again because Israel was blocking aid into the Gaza Strip. As the rebels loosely define an Israeli vessel, many ships could be targeted.
From November 2023 to January this year, the Houthis attacked more than 100 merchant ships with drones and missiles. They sank two of them while killing four sailors. The Houthis also attempted to attack American warships but without success.
The U.S. Campaign shows no sign of slowing down, and the Trump Administration has linked its airstrikes against the Houthis with an effort to pressurize Iran over its rapidly progressing nuclear program.
