The Daily Mail reported that the Trump administration has started detaining unauthorized migrants in Denver’s sanctuary city, fulfilling a major campaign promise.
The first arrests were made Monday, not long after Trump took his oath. They began with illegal immigrants who had pending criminal charges in Colorado.
John Fabbricatore praised the initial effort. He was a former Denver Field Office Director for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The ICE agents are performing their duties, which they have been supposed to do for the past four years. It’s a situation of all hands on deck, where they use all the agents at their disposal.
He said that the officials had planned and researched the raids in advance, but the previous administration prevented them from taking action.

These cases were already on the table. “They’ve done surveillance, they have case notes and they are just tackling those cases they weren’t allowed to touch before,” Fabbricatore stated.
“There were priorities set out which limited your options, such as not being able to go after DUIs. You couldn’t pursue a simple drug possession.
He said, “The Biden Administration made these priorities which kept you from going to criminals.”
Denver prides itself on being defiant to Trump’s crackdown against illegal immigration. Denverite reported in November that Mayor Mike Johnston said Denverites would resist any mass deportation efforts.
You would have 50,000 Denverites. This is like Tiananmen Square with the gun and rose.

You’d get all those Highland mothers who came to support the migrants. “You don’t want to mess around with them,” he said.
Trump’s campaign made illegal immigration, its impact on society and his promise to deport illegal immigrants in mass once elected a central issue.
Trump stated in Los Angeles in October, “We’re going have the largest deportation ever in our country.” “We’re starting with Springfield (Ohio) and Aurora (Colorado).”
Tom Homan, the border czar, said on Tuesday, the second full day of Trump’s second term: “In the past 24 hours, ICE has arrested over 308 serious crimes.”
