Actor Charlie Sheen has recently addressed his past sexual relationships with men for the first time.

In his forthcoming memoir, “The Book of Sheen,” and a Netflix documentary, “aka Charlie Sheen,” the 60-year-old actor provides insight into his personal life. Reports indicate that Sheen chose to explore new experiences after years of relationships solely with women.

In the documentary, Sheen, known for his role in the sitcom “Two and a Half Men,” discusses his feelings about public disclosure of his past sexual encounters with men. The actor refers to this openness as “liberating,” according to People magazine.

Sheen, a Golden Globe Award winner, had been candid about his history with substance abuse. He revealed to People that he began having sexual encounters with men after he started using crack cocaine. The actor conveyed that this was a significant turning point in his life, sparking questions and self-reflection.

In a recent interview with “Good Morning America,” Sheen explained his reasons for keeping these experiences secret. He cited instances of extortion as a key factor in his decision to maintain silence. Sheen suggested that he felt as though he was being “held hostage” and expressed a desire to be free of such burdens.

In 2015, Sheen publicly disclosed that he was HIV positive during an appearance on “Today.” He told People that he contracted the virus during his years of drug use and encounters. According to the actor, he was also being extorted over his status at the time.

Sheen insisted he had never transmitted HIV to any of his former sexual partners. He expressed a desire for transparency in his memoir and documentary, sharing his life experiences to the extent of his recollection.

Sheen, who has been sober since 2017, stated that he has focused on making amends to those affected by his past actions. He also expressed reluctance to portray himself as a victim in his memoir or documentary.

The actor’s decision to discuss these aspects of his life publicly suggests a desire for authenticity and openness. He conveyed a determination not to hide or be defined by his past.

Charlie Sheen’s memoir, “The Book of Sheen,” is expected to be released on Sept. 9, and his documentary, “aka Charlie Sheen,” will be available for streaming on Netflix from Sept. 10.
