According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, a minivan crashed into a crowd in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon. Several people were injured, including two children and one teen.
LAFD reports that the incident occurred shortly after 3 pm local time, in the downtown area.
The fire department released a statement saying that “nine patients were assessed on the scene for injuries. Four adults were taken to a hospital nearby for medical treatment. Two adults refused treatment. Three minors, aged 8, 11, and 17, were also transported.”

LAFD reported that “no fatalities or critical patients were transported” at the time of transport.
The report also said that the fire companies were still at the scene where the minivan “was static under a collapsed terrace.”
Traffic officers began an investigation to determine how the van landed on the patio. The Los Angeles Police Department stated that early indications did not indicate that the collision had been intentional or criminal.
LAPD later confirmed that alcohol and drugs were not involved. According to police statements, the driver hit the barrier adjacent to the restaurant after swerving to avoid a stopped car.
