A substantial scuffle occurred at a vigil for Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old political activist, who was reportedly assassinated during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. This information is provided to us through footage of the incident.
The melee took place in front of the Idaho state Capitol in Boise on the evening of Kirk’s tragic event, according to local sources. Reports indicate that a man, donned in a white T-shirt and a rainbow-colored backpack, allegedly shouted profanity at the crowd, which led to outrage among attendees.
Police identified the man as 41-year-old Terry Wilson, a local Black Lives Matter activist. The situation escalated when 51-year-old Alfonso Ayala confronted Wilson, igniting a heated exchange that rapidly turned physical. The evidence suggests that some in the crowd chanted nationalistic slogans, while others called for an end to the conflict. Wilson was seen being knocked to the ground, kicked, and hit before retaliating.

Footage reveals that the brawl continued until police and other attendees intervened, resulting in Wilson crossing the street, issuing more profanity, and calling for “free speech.” Subsequent police action led to the arrest of both Wilson and Ayala.
While arresting Wilson, officers reportedly found a firearm and marijuana in his possession. He now faces charges of disturbing the peace, carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence, and possession of marijuana. We are told Wilson was taken to a hospital for treatment before being placed in the Ada County Jail.
Ayala, on the other hand, was also taken into custody and booked into the Ada County Jail on a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace.
The Boise Police Department (BPD) has reiterated that public safety remains its top priority as community members gather for remembrance events, particularly in light of the recent events in Utah and the assassination of Charlie Kirk. BPD has also disclosed that Wilson has a history of activism and prior arrests. In 2021, he was reportedly sentenced to community service and ordered to pay restitution for vandalizing a public statue.
