Al Gore, former vice president of the United States, said that President Donald Trump’s Administration is acting like Nazi Germany during Adolf Hitler’s reign.

Gore said this in a speech at San Francisco Climate Week. He claimed that the Trump administration was “trying to create its preferred version” of reality, like the Nazis did during the 1930s and 40s.

Gore told Politico that he “understands very well why it’s wrong to compare Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich with any other movement.” “It was unique evil, period. I get it, but there are some important lessons to be learned from the history and rise of this emerging evil.”

Gore noted that Germans who studied the Third Reich following World War II said the nation’s descent to hell began when “all questions of truth were converted into questions of power.”

Gore stated, “The Nazis… attacked the very core of the distinction between truth and false.” “The Trump administration insists on creating its version of reality.”

Gore, a prominent climate activist and criticised Trump’s approach to combating climate change.

“They say the climate crisis is a hoax invented by the Chinese to destroy American manufacturing,” Gore said. “They say coal is clean. They say wind turbines cause cancer. They say sea-level rise just creates more beachfront property.”

Former Vice President said Trump was channeling previous authoritarian leaders, who used migrants and xenophobia as scapegoats to rise to power.

Gore stated that “Our Constitution was written by our founding fathers to protect us from a threat similar to Donald Trump.”
