3 Shot at California Wilderness Park—Victims’ Conditions Unknown

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting took place at Featherly Regional Park, Yorba Linda, California, on Sunday. The park is home to Canyon RV campground and a wilderness park.

A police officer stated in a video on X that there was an altercation in the park earlier in the afternoon, and then a man tried to run another man over with his car.

Officials said that the driver shot two people after exiting the vehicle, “firing multiple rounds at them before turning his gun on himself.”

The sheriff’s department said that all three victims of gunshot wounds were taken to the hospital. However, the victim who was struck by a car was only mildly injured and was treated by firefighters and paramedics but not hospitalized.

As of Sunday evening, the victims’ condition was unknown.

According to the police, multiple people witnessed the incident.

Officials said that they believed all the victims and suspects were acquainted, and called it an “isolated incident.”
