Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of “The View”, backed Carrie Underwood on Tuesday for her upcoming performance at the inauguration of President-elect Trump.
Goldberg stated on ‘The View,’ “If I believe I am entitled to decide to perform somewhere, I think they are entitled to the same right… I must support.”
You know, “[Doesn’t] mean that I am particularly interested in the things I won’t watch?” “But that’s just me,” she continued.
Goldberg is a frequent critic of Trump, so it’s notable that he made these comments about Underwood.
Underwood will perform “America the Beautiful,” next Monday, before Trump’s swearing-in. The country singer said in a statement released to USA Today that she loves “our country” and is honored to have been invited to sing at Trump’s Inauguration.

She added, “I’m humbled to be able to respond to this call in a time where we all need to come together to look to the future and to unite.”
Trump had trouble attracting celebrities for his first inauguration eight years ago amid criticisms and concerns over how he’d lead after a divisive campaign in 2016.
It’s like Joe (Scarborough) and Mika [Brzezinski]. Goldberg stated that Underwood felt it was the right thing to do. “I have to stand by them,” Goldberg said about Underwood’s performance in Tuesday’s episode.
